Obituary for Frank A. Velasco

Frank A. Velasco, 77, of Bloomington passed away April 1, 2013 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital. Born March 28, 1936 in Newark, NJ, he was the son of Frank and Mary (Rullo) Velasco. Frank was an Engineer at Otis Elevator United Technology for 48 years. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to May 1, 1958 and in the Navy Reserve to 1962. He was active in the St. John and St. Paul Catholic Churches in Bloomington. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Cappy of Bloomington, three sons, Frank G. Velasco (Ronya) of Florida, Gerald Velasco (Jennifer) of Indianapolis, Robert A. Velasco (Blue) of Florida, step children, Lindsay Cappy, Damon Cappy, step-grandchildren, Tyson Cappy, Jakob Hamilton, Kaden Hamilton, grandchildren, Emily, Rachel, Jenna, Tyler, Livia, Ava, Emma, Tony and Sophia Velasco, two sisters, Louise Ferrentino and Carmela Spano. Frank was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rose Marie Zullo. The family will receive friends 12 noon-2:00pm Friday, April 5, 2013 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington, Indiana 47401. The Monroe County Veteran’s Honor Guard will perform military rites at 2:00pm.
