Obituary for Freeda May Norman (Southern)

Freeda May (Southern) Norman, 90, of Bloomington, went to be with the Lord. She passed away on Monday at the IU Health Hospice House. Freeda was born January 29, 1923, in Lawrence County, and was the daughter of Ira and Anna (Deckard) Southern. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bloomington Holiness Church. Survivors include two daughters: Sandi Kinser (Rick) and LaDonna Lanham (Steve), both of Bloomington, and one son, Gary Norman (Ruth), of Bedford. Also surviving are three sisters: Lucille Frye, Linda Eubank and Joyce Landreth, all of Bloomington, as well as 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Freeda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Norman; three brothers: Rollie Southern, Harley Southern, and Lloyd Southern; two sisters: Delores Southern and Lorene Groomer; and grandson Anthony Halstead. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street, Bloomington. Rev. Dean Rose will officiate the service, and burial will follow at Presbyterian Cemetery in Ellettsville. Visitation will be on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at The Funeral Chapel and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time.
