Lorene G. Adkins, 83 of Bloomington, passed away on Thursday November 12, 2015 at the IU Health Hospice House. Lorene was born October 11, 1932 in Lafayette, IN and was the daughter of the late Esmore Johnson Graves and Hazel Kathleen (VanMeter) Graves. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of Fairview United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Charles E. Adkins of Bloomington, 4 children; Kenneth D. (Brenda) Adkins of Noblesville, Keith H. (Yvonne Oropeza) Adkins of Indianapolis, Karen K. (Bud) Adkins-Fleener of Bloomington, and Kelli J. (Richard) Ellis of Indianapolis. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, sister, Margaret Bellah of Las Vegas, NV and brother, Donny Graves of Atlanta, GA.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services for Lorene will be 1:00 pm Monday November 16, 2015 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington. Lorene’s son The Rev. Dr. Keith H. Adkins will officiate the service and burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time on Monday at The Funeral Chapel.
