Alice I. Turpin (Wood)
Alice I. Turpin, 82, of Bloomington passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 at her residence.
Born, March 9, 1933 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Alpha (Dewar) Wood.
She was the Cafeteria Supervisor at RCA for 20 plus years and she was a member of the Westside Assembly of God.
Alice was a loving wife, mom, grandma and great granny who enjoyed cooking and attending to her flowers. She was cherished by many who were blessed by her wonderful food, beautiful flowers and loving spirit. She never met a stranger she didn’t like.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Ray Turpin, three daughters, Debbie Gries (Pat) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Denise Parrish of Cape Coral, Florida and DeeDee Turpin of Bloomington, three grandchildren, Troy Gries, Gwen Bernal and Ryan Parrish, four great grandchildren, Hailey Lynn Gries, Hunter Ray Gries, Tadan Ryan Bernal and Aliza Maree Bernal, four sisters, Phyllis Adkins, Barbara Schoolcraft, Carolyn Robinson and Linda Mitchner.
Alice was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be 3-6pm Sunday, February 21st, 2016 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington, IN 47401.
Funeral services will be 10:30am Monday, February 22nd, 2016 at The Funeral Chapel with Pastor Vernon Bettis officiating. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
