Robert Lee "Bob" Cardwell
Robert Lee “Bob” Cardwell Jr. 70, of Bloomington passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Born, September 21, 1945 in Bloomington, he was the son of the late Robert Lee Cardwell Sr. and Virginia Eileen (Games) Cardwell.
Bob was a Police Officer and an Accident Investigator for the Bloomington Police Department for over 20 years. He recently was driving a truck for K&S Hauling.
He was a member of the South Union Christian Church for 20 years.
Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed camping and farming.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Donna (Sparks) Cardwell, one daughter, Pam Headley (Ronnie), one son, Darin Cardwell (Michelle) all of Bloomington, son-in-law, Greg Peterson of Nashville, mother-in-law, Alberta Sparks of Bloomington, five grandchildren, Cody Headley, Shelby Hagan (T.J.), Kyle Cardwell, Nathan Cardwell and Isaac Peterson, two great-grandchildren, Hallie and Jaxon Hagan, two sisters, Lois Cardwell Chambers (Alfred) of White Hall, Lillian Cardwell Dick (Keith) of Columbus, sister-in-law, Linda Sparks MaHaffey (Dee) of Ellettsville.
Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Peterson.
Visitation will be 4-8pm Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. in Bloomington.
Funeral services will be 10:30am Wednesday at South Union Christian Church, 6510 S. Rockport Rd. Bloomington, IN 47403. Jim Cain will officiate.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that in memory of Bob Cardwell contributions be made to South Union Christian Church Benevolent Fund or the church Youth Group.
