Dovie Beatrice Jerrell (Dyer)
Dovie Beatrice Jerrell, 83, of Bloomington passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016 at her residence.
Born, October 26, 1932 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of the late Riley Jefferson and Effie Beatrice (Capps) Dyer.
Dovie was employed at Sarkas Tarzian, RCA, General Electric and later retiring from Cook Inc. She attended the Turning Point Apostolic Church in Ellettsville.
Dovie was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.
Survivors include one daughter, Vicki D. Egan, three grandsons, Bradley P. Egan (Kris), Brian L. Egan all of Bloomington and Jeremy S. Jerrell of Indianapolis, five great-grandchildren, Joshua C. Egan (Mercedes), Jordan R. Egan, Julianne M. Egan, Briana R. Egan and Brice L. Dillman, one great-great granddaughter, Lainey A. Egan, one brother, Ronald Dyer (Charlotte) of Indianapolis and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery E. Jerrell and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Homer and Beverly Dyer and Robert and Juanita Dyer.
At Dovie’s request a private family service will be Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. in Bloomington. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family, with checks made payable to Vicki D. Egan in care of The Funeral Chapel.
