Obituary for Robert Eugene "Bob" Hardwick

Robert Eugene "Bob"  Hardwick
Robert Eugene Hardwick, 92, died September 24, 2016. He was the widower of Lois Evelyn Hawkins Hardwick. They shared 61 years of marriage together.

Born in Avoca, IN on February 26, 1924 to Noble and Olive Hackler Hardwick. He was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran 1943-1946 in the South Pacific. He graduated from Indiana Central (University of Indianapolis) with his BS Education in 1952. He obtained his Masters Degree in 1953 from Indiana University. He was a teacher, basketball coach and cross country coach for 34 years.

He was a member of Clear Creek Christian Church. He was a member of American Legion and the Masonic Lodge. Robert was a special, caring man and a great teacher that touched the lives of many students and athletes.

Robert is survived by his sons, Duane (Tara Pierson) and Phillip (Joyce). sister Mary Hardwick Bruce in Winter Garden, FL , daughter-in-law, Jennifer Linz - Harrison, OH, grandchildren, Josh Hardwick, Maggie (Michael) Rimroth, Andrew (Ashley) Hardwick, Ben Hardwick, Jesse (Jo Nz) Hardwick, Joe (Mikaela) Hardwick, John (Angela Pine) Hardwick;great grandchildren: Addison and Skylar Rimroth, Mason and Lincoln Hardwick and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 4-8pm Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington, IN 47401.
Funeral services will be 10:00am Wednesday at the Clear Creek Christian Church Life Center, 5405 S. Rogers St. Bloomington, IN 47403.
Memorial contributions may be made to the March of Dimes 1275 Mamaroneck Ave. White Plains, NY 10605 or the Alzheimer’s Association National Capital Area Chapter 8180 Greensboro Dr. Suite 400 McLean, VA 22102.
