Paul Schneller
Paul Schneller, 74, of Bloomington, IN passed away at Bloomington Hospice on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 after a brief illness.
Born May 8, 1942 in New York, New York, Paul was the son of the late Oscar and Sylvia Schneller.
Paul received his Bachelors and Masters of Arts in Educational Technology from Indiana University. He worked in educational television and was Director of Training for IU Physical Plant. Paul also taught as an adjunct professor at the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at IU, Bloomington.
Paul was a passionate environmentalist, and one of the original proponents of sustainable practices on the Indiana University Bloomington campus and the at-large community.
He was a lifelong guitar and percussion player and played in multiple bands. He had a mini hit with the doo wop song “Pizza Pie” sung with the group Norman Fox and the Rob Roys.
Paul was an avid card player, playing with two poker groups regularly. He played with his Friday night poker group for over thirty years.
Paul is survived by sons Eric Schneller of Indianapolis and Ian Sons of Bloomington, sister Cecile (Kenneth) Schubert of Richmond, KY, brother Robert Schneller of Indianapolis, grandchildren Katharine, Abby, Jacob, Alexandra and Isaac, and longtime partner Beth Fisher.
Private family services will be held.
