Obituary for
Christina Vargo
Christina came into this world on April 22, 1986 and left us all too soon on December 25, 2016. When John and Golda brought baby Christina home, we were but babies ourselves, and we asked each other "What do we do from here?" We set upon a path of raising a family the best we could, and when we welcomed Rebecca into the world 3 years later, we knew our little family was complete. Christina and Rebecca were best of friends from the beginning, and we did our best to keep them safe and raise them right.
Christina graduated from Bloomington High School North in 2004 and immediately embarked upon a journey to become a Field Medic with the United States Army. Multiple leg stress fractures kept her from completing all of her training, and she received an honorable medical discharge in 2005. It was challenging for her to come to terms with being a disabled American Veteran at the age of 19. She struggled with chronic pain and compounding health issues following her return home.
Christina was a loving, generous and caring person. She was always compassionate toward others and would go out of her way to try to make everyone happy. Her love and laugh was infectious and she absolutely loved her animals, especially her dogs Cosmo and Tanner, horse Woozy and cat Diamond. Christina was truly a “people-person”, and her happiest times were spent with her family and friends around her. Despite her struggles, she always tried her best and would offer help without regard to her own situation. She was quick with a smile and a hug and approached everything with an "all or nothing" attitude. She will be sorely missed and once again, our family is asking the question "What do we do from here?"
There will be a graveside service at Bridge Church of Christ at 3pm on Friday, December 30th. All friends and family are welcome to attend and casual attire is acceptable. We will also be having a Celebration of Life for Christina to follow from 4-7pm at Crazy Horse, 214 W. Kirkwood Ave, Bloomington, IN 47404. Any donations in Christina’s name should be made to PALS (People and Animal Learning Services). Flowers sent to The Funeral Chapel at 3000 E. Third Street, Bloomington, IN 47401.
