George Warren Johnson, Jr., age 69, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away on March 31, 2017 at the V.A. Hospital in Indianapolis. George was born January 31, 1948 to George Warren Johnson, Sr. and Mary Frances (Waldon) (Chandler) Johnson. George was in the U.S. Navy from April 1965 – February 1971. He also served in the U.S. Army from September 1986 – October 1991. George served active duty during the first Desert Storm, until he retired.
George is survived by his wife of fourteen years, Dana Johnson, daughter, Alison Johnson, sons, Cody Johnson and You Zhou, brothers, Jack Johnson, Tyler Johnson, and Dannie Chandler (Paul Fischer), sister, Arleen O’Mullane, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
George was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Tim Johnson and Dene Chandler, sister, Shaun Shadoin and infants, Tommy Johnson and Brenda Chandler.
A gathering of friends and family will be from 10:00 until 11:00 am on Monday, April 10, 2017 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 2222 E. Third Street, Bloomington, Indiana 47401.
A memorial mass will be at 11:00 am on Monday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
