Joseph P. "Joe" Deckard
Joseph P. "Joe" Deckard, 75, of Bloomington passed away Friday, April 7, 2017 at Bell Trace Health and Living Center.
Born, August 12, 1941 in Bloomington, he was the son of the late Howard and Gayle (DeFord) Deckard.
Joe was a Veteran of the United States Navy.
He was a Metalurgist at Detroit Diesel Allison Inc. in Speedway for many years, and he was a member of the Unionville Church of Christ.
Joe was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Betty L. (Kinser) Deckard, two sons, Jody H. Deckard and Michael J. Deckard, three grandchildren, Mikayla, Madison and Mitchell Deckard, two brothers, Donald Deckard (Diane), and Morris Deckard (Rhea) all of Bloomington, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be 4-8pm Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. in Bloomington.
Funeral services will be 10:30am Wednesday at The Funeral Chapel with Pastor Allen Ketchersid officiating. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens in Bloomington.
