Obituary for Kathleen Smith (Houshour)

Kathleen Smith 81 of Bloomington passed away on Friday April 14, 2017 at Hearthstone Health Campus. Kathleen was born May 21, 1935 in Bloomington and was the daughter of the late Roy and Gertie (Hayes) Houshour.
Kathleen loved the outdoors, sightseeing and her family and friends. She worked at IU in Ground Keeping and Maintenance until 1986 when a back injury caused her to retire. She raised her grandchildren and was a very ambitious, outspoken. She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend. She had attended Pentecostal Faith Assembly on the corner of 11th and Adams Street for many years and had recently attended Dolan Ridge Community Church.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Lea (Smith) Houshour, two sisters; Gladyse Wilbur and Gail Clark.
Survivors include her granddaughter Kasey Dawn Marie (Houshour) Gardner (Caleb Matthew) of Bloomington, grandson Dakota Dylan Houshour (Stacey Rachelle Baker) of Greene County, three great grandchildren; Jakob Waylon Scott Gardner, Karleigh Danielle Gardner and Savannah Rose Houshour, sister Wilma Graves and three brothers; Ronnie Houshour (Joyce), Howard Houshour (Wilma) and Richard Houshour. She has many in-laws she greatly loved (too many to mention) along with many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from noon until 1pm at the Duncan Church, 4100 Yellowwood Rd. Nashville, IN 47448 in Brown County.
Graveside services will be 1pm Wednesday at Duncan Cemetery in Nashville.
A memorial service will be at the Duncan Church immediately following the graveside service.
