On May 30th, 2017, Dorothy Pearl Brown Gaylord joined the love of her life, Jay Gaylord in heaven.
Dorothy was born on March 12th, 1927 in Hazard County, Kentucky, and raised at the Bethany Orphanage with her brother James and sister Edna.
Dorothy and Edna left the orphanage at age 18 and moved to the big city of Chicago. Several years later, they both moved to Indianapolis, Indiana and Dorothy married Jay Gaylord on June 6th, 1958. They were married for 20 years until his death in 1978. Dorothy is survived by their son, Eric (Nancy Gaylord).
Dorothy's interests included reading, crossword puzzles, spending time with her cats, and listening to good music, including Frank Sinatra, Rod Stewart and Eric Clapton.
The family deeply appreciates the support provided by Dorothy's devoted friends, Sandy and Catherine.
