Jerry W. Pickel, 68, of Bloomington, passed away on Thursday June 15, 2017 at the IU Health Hospice House. Jerry was born June 29, 1948 in Vincennes, Indiana and was the son of the late Merle K. and Audrey (Fellows) Pickel.
Jerry worked in Property Management for over 40 years for Rogers Group Inc. He loved to ride motorcycles and ATV’s in the woods around the log house he shared with his wife. He was a woodworker and enjoyed making items for others. He also had a love for fishing and fly fishing and was able to fish the North Platt River and various locations in Missouri and Canada.
Survivors include his wife Jana Rechter, his 2 children, Elliott Pickel and Sarah Benson (Jacob), sister, Carolyn Owens and brother Dr. Merle Pickel (Sandra). Also surviving are 2 step children, Sam Clemens (Andrea) and Katie Valentine (Jason) and 7 grandchildren.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Bob Owens.
A Celebration of Jerry’s life will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Sunday July 9, 2017at the Bloomington Country Club 3000 S. Rogers St. Bloomington
