Obituary for Larry Keith Deckard

Larry Keith Deckard, 75, of Bloomington, passed away on Sunday July 23, 2017 at his residence. Born June 8, 1942 in Smithville, he was the son of the late Clarke and Ruby (Siscoe) Deckard. Larry was a graduate of Bloomington High School and retired from RCA where he was an engineer.
Larry enjoyed traveling, fishing and was a member of the Bloomington Bass Club, the Monroe County RC Club, and A.M.A (Academy of Model Aeronautics).
Survivors include his two daughters, Dawn M. Kinser (Tom) and Lisa K. Bell (Brad), and one son, Richard M. Deckard, all of Bloomington; 9 grandchildren; Ashley Kinser Ryan (Bill), Lyndsey Kinser Bannick (Cathy), Craig Kinser, Erik Kinser, MacKenzie Bell, Dawson Bell, Colten Staten, Keaton Deckard, and Kennedy Deckard; 4 great-grandchildren, Parker Ryan, Carson Ryan, Hayden Bannick, and Tanner Bannick. He is also survived by his brother Edward (Joyce) Deckard, Oklahoma City, OK; his companion of over 20 years, Rebecca S. “Beckie” (Kerr) Grounds of Bloomington; Beckie’s daughter, Michele Williams (Mark) and granddaughter Madison Williams; and several aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy E. “Dot” (Fleck) Deckard in 1993 and his parents.
Services for Larry will be 11:00 am Friday July 28, 2017 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard 3000 E. Third Street Bloomington, with the Rev. David Vaughn officiating. A private family burial will take place at Clear Creek Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be on Thursday July 27, 2017 from 4-8 pm and Friday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at The Funeral Chapel.
