Phyllis Joan Stewart (72) of Bloomington, IN, died on Sunday, January 7, 2018. She was surrounded by family who loved and will miss her wisdom and sense of humor.

Phyllis was born to Mr and Mrs John and Pansy (Houldson) Howell August 9, 1945 in Sandborn, Indiana. She was the middle sister to big sister, Merilyn (Clifton) Sparks and little sister, Rita Rogers.

In 1961 she married the love of her life, Jack Stewart, who passed before Phyllis on January 24, 2013 and now walks hand-in-hand with his "sweetie". Their love was evident to everyone and they did everything together. They built their lives and business, Stewart Electric Supply, together and worked along side their girls and son-in-law, Greg, for 30 years. Also, 4 of their grandchildren during different times in the family business.

Phyllis is survived by her two loving daughters and their husbands, Shawn and Mark Dilts and Alison and Greg Dimmett. Mammaw was greatly loved by her grandchildren Chastin Davis, Stewart (Erica) Dilts, Zackary Dimmett, and Jenna Dimmett, and Mammaw also to Jeremy and Jacqueline (Sarah) Dilts. She also leaves behind her two sisters and nieces and nephews that loved Aunt Phyllis. She had seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and nephew, Perry Taylor.

Visitation will be held at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard 3000 East Third Street, Bloomington, IN from 4-8 pm Thursday, January 11th and services will be at 11am with 1 hour prior for visitation on Friday, January 12th. Burial will follow at South Union Christian Church immediately following.
