Obituary for William F. Shields

William Franklin Shields, 84, of Bloomington passed away at the Gentry Park Senior Living Center on Monday April 30, 2018. Bill was born July 15, 1933 in Bloomington and was the son of the late Leco and Melba (Clark) Shields.
Bill was a Veteran of the United States Navy and served in the Korean War. He worked for over 30 years as a Sheet Metal worker for Triangle Leahy. He was of the Christian Faith and was baptized recently. He was an avid Indiana University Sports fan and Indianapolis Colts, he loved NASCAR and working on his property. He was always a hard worker at anything he did. Bill was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his daughter Lisa D. Shields, son Brian A. Shields, 2 sisters, Vera Deckard and Patricia Kent, 4 grandchildren, Christopher C. Falcon, Ashley L. Falcon, Nicole L. Falcon, and Katelynn M. Falcon, and 3 great grandchildren, Emma-Kate Falcon, Tyler Ford Bryant and Connor Michael Falcon.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Georgia Shields (2014), brother, Loren Shields, and sisters, Mary Seay, Vivian Wilson, and Martha Black.
Visitation for Bill will be from 9:30 am until 11:00 am Saturday May 5, 2018 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday at The Funeral Chapel with Rev. Russell Elkins officiating. Burial will follow at Knightridge Cemetery.
