Obituary for Helen Louise Quimby

Helen Louise Quimby, 82, of Solsberry, passed away on Thursday October 31, 2013 at home with her family at her side. Helen was born June 22, 1931 in Monroe County to John S. and Anna (Russ) Anderson. She had previously worked at Sarkes Tarzian in Bloomington and was a homemaker. She was a member of Cincinnati Christian Church where she had taught Sunday School, Bible School, and participated in the Women’s Fellowship among many other things. Helen is survived by her husband of 64 years, Maxwell Quimby of Solsberry, three sons; Steve Quimby (Patti) of Bloomington, Brad Quimby (Susan) of Martinsville, and, Mark Quimby of Bloomington, 7 grandchildren; Craig Quimby (Kara), Dara James (Jason), Ashley Miller (Dave), Whitney Quimby, Alison King (Tyler), Grant Quimby, and Peighton Quimby. Also surviving are 5 great grandchildren Laney, Leila, Jake, Jobey and Norah and one sister Rose Harris of Bloomington. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Lillie Hession and Dorothy Hacker, and brothers; Hubert Anderson, Paul Anderson, Carl Anderson, Willis Anderson, Richard Anderson, and Norman Anderson. Services for Helen will be 3 pm Tuesday November 5, 2013 at Cincinnati Christian Church, 11432 E. State Road 54, Bloomfield. Rev. Tony Stinson and Rev. Glen Stidd will officiate the service. Burial will follow the service at Greene County Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday November 4, 2013 from 4-8 pm at Cincinnati Christian Church, and Tuesday from 2 pm until service time at the church.
