Robert L. "Bob" Neely
Robert L. “Bob” Neely, 61, of Bloomington passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at the IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born, June 7, 1954 and proudly raised in Corydon, Indiana where he was known as “Bobby Lynn.” He was the son of devoted parents Robert and Grace (Mayberry) Neely.
He was a graduate of Corydon Central High School and the University of Evansville.
Bob was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Bloomington.
He was an Officer for the Bloomington Police Department for 34 years and a member and current Vice President of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #88 in Bloomington.
Bob was a loving husband and father who enjoyed bluegrass music, attending fairs and horse pulls.
Family members include his wife of 31 years, Lesilyn Swain Neely, one daughter, Hannah C. Neely McCuiston (Austin) of Baltimore, MD; and one son, Wesley Luke Neely of Bloomington.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be 4-8pm Friday, November 13, 2015 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington, IN 47401. Visitation will also be 10am-2pm Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Gehlbach and Royse Funeral Home, 318 E. Chestnut St. Corydon, IN 47112.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday at the Gehlbach and Royse Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to Shop With a Cop, payable to the F.O.P. Lodge #88, P.O. Box 1561, Bloomington, IN 47402.
