Frederick Russell Ogan
Frederick Russell Ogan died on Monday March 7, 2016 after his battle with cancer. Fred was born November 25, 1938, in Gary, Indiana, to the late Russell and Veronica Ogan. He was married 54 years to Carol (Lahaie) Ogan. Children include son, Lt. Scott F. Ogan, wife Michelle (Donahue) Ogan, daughter Sherilyn M. (Ogan) Fosha, husband Joel Fosha, son Rodney A. Ogan, wife Lori G. (May) Ogan. Grandchildren include Katie Ogan, Nathan Ogan, Veronica Fosha, Natalie (Ogan) Temples, Victoria Fosha, Christopher Ogan, and Anna Ogan. Great Grandchildren include Liam Temples and Olivia Temples. Fred leaves behind three siblings, sister Deloris (Ogan) Hurlburt, sister Debbie (Ogan) Hoy and brother Alan Ogan.
Fred was a 1960 graduate of Notre Dame. He served in the US Army. Fred’s career began at Pacific Finance. He also worked for the I.U. Credit Union and retired from Old National Bank. He was a trustee for the Richland Township and was currently serving on the Board of Trustees in Richland Township. Fred was a member of St. John’s the Apostle Catholic Church serving on various committees in earlier years.
Fred was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a sports enthusiast.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 9, 2016 from 4-8 pm at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington.
A Funeral Mass for Fred will be held 10:30 am Thursday March 10, 2016 at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 4607 West State Road 46, Bloomington. Father Daniel Mahan will preside. Burial will follow at Chambersville Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at I.U. Health, the nurses from 4E, Home Health Care nurses, and Hospice for the wonderful care and support that was given to Fred and the family.
