Obituary for Barbara M. Atwood

Barbara M. Atwood, 81, of Bloomington, passed away on Monday March 28, 2016 at her residence. Barbara was born January 14, 1935 in Monroe County and was the daughter of the late Morris and Pauline (Taylor) Brinegar.
Barbara was a homemaker, she had served on the Monroe County 4-H Board of Directors, member of the Walk-A-Lot Home Demonstration Club, played Bunco for over 50 years, and a member of the Crossroads United Methodist Church.
Barbara is survived by one daughter, Brenda Dillman and her husband Cary of Bloomington, 2 sons, Jeff Atwood and his wife Pamela of Nashville, and Tracy Atwood of Florida. Also surviving is one brother, James Brinegar of Florida, 7 grandchildren; Ryan Holmes (Kayla), Megan Hoskins (Mike), Tiffany Jackson, Tabitha Harwell (Jonathan), Thomas Dillman, Anna Dillman, and Matthew Dillman (Megan), and 3 great grandchildren, Jocelyn Bock, Colton Hoskins and Brooklyn Hoskins.
She was preceded in death by her husband John T. Atwood, and her parents.
Visitation for Barbara will be 4-8 pm on Thursday March 31, 2016 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington.
Services will be 1:00 pm Friday April 1, 2016 at The Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
