Obituary for Arlena F. Wires

Arlena F.  Wires
Arlena Fay (Terrell) Wires went home to be with Jesus on September 9, 2016. She was born in Monroe County on December 15, 1928 to John and Myrtle (Hays) Terrell. Arlena was #6 in a family of 9 that included 5 sisters; Glodene (Terrell) Chambers – Deceased, Thelma (Terrell) Kahn of Singer Island, FL, Pauline (Terrell) Floyd – Deceased, Anna Lee (Terrell) Rodgers – Deceased, and Mary Ellen (Terrell) Loyd of Greenwood, 3 brothers; Lester Terrell – Deceased, Edgar Terrell of Bloomington, and Thurman Terrell of Gosport. She is survived by her husband William Wires, 2 sons, Ed and Jim, daughter, Kelly, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren who loved her dearly along with several nieces and nephews, and her dog Sam.
Arlena attended Todd Grade School and graduated from Smithville High School. She worked at RCA for 19 years and was a CNA for several years.
Arlena walked with Jesus since she was 17 years old and received the Holy Ghost in 1947. She was a faithful saint and serving Jesus was her first love and devout priority. She attended the Apostolic Pentecostal Churches in Florida and Bedford, IN. Not only was she a servent of the most high but she served everyone she met and was always giving and helping others.
Arlena will be deeply missed by family and friends, especially her devoted niece Roslyn (Chambers) and her husband Larry who have been her caregiver and bosom friends for many years.
Services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday September 13, 2016 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington. Burial will follow the service at Clear Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 pm Monday September 12, 2016 at The Funeral Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be given in Arlena’s memory to the Burgoon Cemetery.
