Doyle Keith Gardner, 61 of Solsberry, passed away on Sunday June 24, 2018 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. Doyle was born April 25, 1957 in Bloomington and was the son of Harry Keith and Phyllis Joan (Carmichael) Gardner.
Doyle was a 1975 graduate of Eastern High School where he played basketball, baseball and ran track. He enjoyed participating in all sports. Doyle worked as a Lab Tech at Berry Plastics. He had also worked at G.E. and Peck, Inc. He enjoyed fishing, IU Athletics, Nascar, and the St. Louis Cardinals. He was a big Jeff Gordon fan.
Survivors include his mother, Phyllis Joan Gardner, sister Dianna (Dexter) Stapleton, brother Doug Gardner, 3 nieces; Heather (David) Elyea, Rebecca Grimes and Michelle (Sean) Sills, 2 great nieces; Sydney Grimes, and Makenzie Grimes, great nephew, Alec Sills, and aunt, Shirley (Fred) Watkins.
Doyle was preceded in death by his father Harry Keith Gardner and grandparents.
Visitation for Doyle will be on Tuesday June 26, 2018 from 4:00 pm -8:00 pm at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard and on Wednesday June 27, 2018 from 12:00 pm until service time at 1:00 pm.
Services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday at The Funeral Chapel with burial following at Lowder Cemetery in Lawrence County.
