Obituary for Max Myron Volz

Max Myron Volz, 82, of Bloomington passed away August 28, 2018 at his residence.
Born, June 23, 1936 in Pawnee City, Nebraska, he was the son of William "Bill" and Alma (Meier) Volz.
After graduating from high school Max worked and retired from General Motors in Southern California.
He was a loving brother and uncle who enjoyed mowing his very large yard, and dancing at various venues around Bloomington.
Survivors include brothers, William (Rosanne), Richard (Arlene), Dwight (and his dancing partner Greta), and Ron (Joyce); sisters, Linda Davy (Tom), Joyce Taylor (Melvin), Judy Volz, and sister-in-law, Dorothy Volz. The reason for his constant smile was his dear friend Mary.
Max was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Kenny and niece, Connie Volz, sister-in-law, Phyllis Volz, and his beloved dog Toby.
He will be greatly missed by all, including his many nieces and nephews. For those young children who thought he was Santa Claus he carried with him wrapped Match Box Cars.
Visitation will be 4-8pm Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington, IN 47401.
Funeral services will be 10:30am Wednesday at The Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Gosport.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #18 in Bloomington.
