Rick L. Deckard, 66, of Heltonville, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at his daughter's residence where she had lovingly cared for him for the past 8 years. Rick was born August 4, 1952 in Monroe County and was the son of Harold and Kathleen (Harper) Deckard.
Rick was an avid deer hunter. He loved spending time in the woods. He also loved mushroom hunting and riding his 4-wheeler in the woods.
Rick is survived by his daughter, Jody Pennington; grandson, Loagn Waltz, and 3 sisters, Leeta (Eddie) Chasteen, Sue Taylor and Maye (Denny) Blackwell along with several nieces and nephews.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew Stacey Blackwell.
Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Chapel Hill Cemetery with Pastor Darin Bowlen officiating.
