Robert Eugene Barrow "Bob", age 88, of Unionville, Indiana passed away at his residence on Monday, November 12, 2018 after a short illness. Bob was born in Bloomington, Indiana on December 4, 1929 to Clem and Maggie Barrow. Bob graduated from Unionville High School in May of 1948. Bob married Dorcas "Doc" Wood in July of 1948, and they were married for 70 years.
Bob was a co-owner of Rural Water Maintenance in Unionville, and a part-time farmer. He was a lifelong member of New Unionville Baptist Church. Bob loved Unionville and Bloomington. He loved Indiana University sports, car racing, farming, and animals, especially his cows and dogs. Bob was a family-man that loved all of his family.
Bob is survived by his wife of 70 years, Doc Barrow, children, Kathy Lorimer (Michael) and David Barrow (Becky), granddaughters, Brooke Fleener (Sam) and Lexi Lorimer, great grandchildren, Raelynn, Cole Michael, and Dylan Fleener, and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, infant, James Barrow, Dolly Stancome (Bill), Hershel Barrow (Lucille), Lucille Robinson (Bill), William Barrow (Roxie), Erwin Barrow (Millie), Dema Jonas (Harold), Vernal Barrow, Doris Staley (Dale), and Paul Barrow (Audrey).
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday, November 14, 2018 and from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Thursday at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street Bloomington, Indiana.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Thursday at The Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow at Little Union Cemetery in Unionville. Pastor Chris Meadows and Pastor Les Rovenstine will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Unionville Baptist Church in Bob's name.
