Obituary for Stephanie D. Bowman

Our beautiful daughter, Stephanie D. Bowman, age 56, passed away at Hospice House in Bloomington on November 13, 2018. Born November 4, 1962 in Franklin, she was the daughter of Jack M. and Sue Ellen Bowman.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents William and Margaret Bowman and Gus and Abbie Sieboldt.
She is survived by her parents, a sister, Jacqueline Bowman of Russellville, AR and a brother and sister-in-law, Douglas and Tammy Bowman of Corvallis, OR, as well as two nephews, Jack and Seth Bowman and two nieces Emma and Chloe Bowman, as well as many, many cousins, uncles and aunts.
Stephanie graduated from Olympia High School in Stanford, IL after attending Twin Lakes High School in Monticello and Southwestern High School in Hanover. She had a BA degree from Illinois Wesleyan and an MBA from Tampa University and her RN from Ivy Technical College in Bloomington, IN.
As exemplified by her nursing career, Stephanie loved people and never saw a stranger. She enjoyed traveling to the national parks and especially Oregon. She will be greatly missed by a myriad of people for she enriched all who knew her. Her nieces and nephews were especially important to her.
She was employed at Eli Lilly in Indianapolis in clinical trials drug safety as a specialist and ever a diligent worker. Early in her nursing career she worked as a traveling nurse and worked in pediatric intensive care in a number of hospitals.
Visitation for Stephanie will be from 3-7 pm Sunday at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington and on Monday from 12:30 pm until service time at First United Methodist Church, 219 E. 4th Street Bloomington.
Services will be 1:30 pm Monday at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Fenstermacher officiating. The Nurses Honor Guard will also have rites at the service. Entombment will follow at Chambersville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church or the Monroe County History Center.
