Robert E. Fenton, 88, Bloomington, Indiana, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, November 18, 2018. Robert was born on July 6, 1930 in Seymour, Indiana the son of the late William Edward and Zelda Enola (Moore) Fenton.
Robert was a Church of Christ Preacher for 65 years and conducted over 500 weddings and funerals. He also was a Computer Systems Programmer Analyst at Indiana University, retiring in 1991. He was a member of Southern Hills Church of Christ where he served as an Elder.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, who he married February 25, 1951, E. Louise (Crews) Fenton; son, John (Monica) Fenton of Jacksonville, Florida; two daughters, Janet (Gregg) Floyd and Martha (Jeff) Minett both of Bloomington, Indiana; ten grandchildren, Angela (Eric) Chambers, Sara (EJ) Fischer, Nathan (Mandy) Floyd, Jennifer (Ryan) Taylor, Hannah (Jeremy) Christopher, Kate (Matt) Service, Amy (Andy) Deremiah, Rebecca (Jeremiah) Schroeder and Sam (Brittany) Smith and 24 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Scott Fenton and a grandson, Joe Fenton.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard 3000 E. Third Street Bloomington, Indiana and on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 after 10:00 a.m. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at The Funeral Chapel, with Pat Arthur as celebrant.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens in Bloomington, Indiana. Pallbearers will be Nathan Floyd, Sam Smith, Ryan Taylor, EJ Fischer, Andy Deremiah, Jeremy Christopher, Eric Chambers and Matt Service.
Contributions may be made to Southern Hills Church of Christ in Robert's name.
