Obituary for Rev. Wayne P. Edie

Rev. Wayne P. Edie, 76, of Bloomington, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the Richland Bean Blossom Healthcare Center surrounded by his loving family. Wayne was born February 3, 1942 in Canton, Ohio and was the son of the late Wayne A. and Dora (Hinchliff) Edie.

Wayne received his Bachelor's degree from Anderson College and made ministry his life. He was the Pastor at the First Church of God in Lincoln, NE, Danville, KY, Vero Beach, FL, Cape Coral, FL and Bloomington, IN where he then retired after 41 years of Pastoral Ministry. Wayne loved to travel and collected lighthouses and coins and was a member of the Bloomington Coin Club.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Norma (Craddock) Edie; one son, Greg (Jani) Edie and one daughter, Jill Edie. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Kasey Edie (Andrew) Derr, Landon Booker, Madison Edie-Booker, and Melia Edie-Booker, one great granddaughter, Alice Derr; one sister, Ruby (Joe) Orick; and two brothers, Bill (Russia) Edie, and Lee Edie, along with several nieces and nephews.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters, Lydia Shaffer, Laura Rhodes and Verna Moulton.

Services will be 11:00 am Saturday at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington. Rev. Donald Griffin and Rev. Bob Ellis will officiate the service and burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.

Visitation for Wayne will be from 10:00 am until service time on Saturday.
