Obituary for Charles Edward "Chuck" Lawson Jr.

Charles Edward “Chuck” Lawson, Jr., age 70, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away at his residence on Monday, December 17, 2018. Chuck was born on January 25, 1948 in Bloomington to Charles Sr. and Orpha (Lucas) Lawson.
Chuck graduated from Bloomington High School in 1966. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War, where he ran a printing press. He was a member of the American Legion. Chuck retired from Phi Delta Kappa, where he also ran a printing press. Chuck loved his family dearly and always told them “I love you more.”
Chuck is survived by his wife of 48 years, Connie (Thacker) Lawson, children, Jennifer Axsom (David), David Lawson (Stacy), and Charles Lawson III (Cathy), grandchildren, Christa Wright (Justin), Robert McWhorter (Laci), Alyssa Bruce (Ben), Paige Lawson, Gracie Lawson, Wyatt Lawson, Josie Lawson, Kelsie Lee, and David Axsom (Tiffany), eight great-grandchildren, and siblings, Dale Webb (Marie), Linda Williams (Melvin), Mike Lawson (Diana), and Mikki Watson (Wayne).
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street Bloomington, Indiana.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday at The Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens in Bloomington. Pastor Darin Bowlen and Pastor Joe Nelson will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made in Chuck’s name to the American Legion or IU Health Hospice.
