Obituary for Jeffrey S. "Jeff" Peterson
Jeffrey S. "Jeff" Peterson, 49, of Bloomington passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born, May 25, 1969 in Bloomington, he was the son of Don and Rhonda (Empson) Peterson.
Jeff was a 1987 graduate of Bloomington High School South. He was previously employed with Hoosier Drywall, and most recent Personal Lawncare.
Jeff's life was centered around auto racing; modified and sprint cars since he was 14 years old.
He was a loving husband, son, brother, and uncle who enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals, Indianapolis Colts, and IU football and basketball.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Snapp-Peterson, mother, Rhonda Peterson, brother, Jason Peterson, niece, Brittany Peterson, great-niece, Berkley,mother and father-in-law, Jeff and Debbie Snapp, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Don Peterson, and grandparents, John and Opal Empson, and Gene and Freda Underwood.
The family would like to thank the EMT's, Dr. Helen Kirk, and everyone in the Cardiovascular Recovery Unit (especially Schylar and Kayla) at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
Visitation will be 3-8pm Friday, December 28, 2018, and Saturday 9-11am prior to the funeral service at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. in Bloomington.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, December 29, 2018 at The Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Mickey Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Clear Creek Cemetery in Bloomington.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Josh Burton Memorial Fund in care of Peoples State Bank, or to the charity of one's choice.
