Nyle W. Johnson, age 60, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away at IU Health Bloomington Hospital on Tuesday, January 15, 2019. Nyle was born in Bloomington, Indiana on June 5, 1958 to Joseph Wayne and Mabel (Anderson) Johnson.
Nyle graduated from Bloomington High School South in 1976 and attended Indiana University. He was a proud member of the Boy Scouts where he was an Eagle Scout, a member of the Order of the Arrow, and a Heyoka Indian Dancer. Nyle was an enthusiast of military history. He loved to fish and hunt, and was a member of the NRA. He went to South Africa, Russia, Europe, Alaska, and Canada, most of which were hunting or fishing trips. Nyle had a very close knit group of friends that were considered family to him, and he loved spending time with them.
Nyle is survived by his sister, Darla Johnson of Bloomington, step-brother, Gary Robertson (Terry) of Bloomington, multiple nieces and nephews, and several close friends.
Nyle was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Mildred I. Johnson, and step-brother, Richard "Dick" Robertson.
A celebration of life for Nyle will be held at a later date.
