Obituary for Anthony Wayne "Tony" Elliott

Anthony Wayne "Tony" Elliott, 55, of Bloomington, passed away on Thursday January 24, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Tony was born October 13, 1963 in Bloomington and was the son of Luther Vernon and Bessie (Smith) Elliott.
Tony worked various jobs. What Tony loved the most was his time as a coach and teacher's aide. While working at Batchelor Middle School as an aide he coached Cross Country, Football and Basketball. He also spent time as JV Softball Coach at Bloomington High School South. Tony was also an important part of the Bloomington Lightning Travel Softball Program in Bloomington, coaching various age groups and taking several teams to the National Tournament. He also coached rec league softball and AAU basketball.
Tony is survived by his wife, Darla (Black) Elliott; daughter, Taylor Elliott (Jason Campbell); parents, Vernon and Bess Elliott; brother, Jeff Elliott; sister, Julia Elliott-Felton (Jerry); step daughter, Jessica Barger (Ben Dupree); granddaughter, Zaylee Campbell and a granddaughter on the way, 4 step grandchildren, Skylar Like, Levi Barger, Bella Dupree, and Benny Dupree. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, nieces, and cousins.
Tony was preceded in death by his grandparents, Luther and Mable Elliott and Clifford and Nellie Smith.
Visitation for Tony will be Monday January 28, 2019 from 4-8 pm at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington.
Services will be 10:30 am Tuesday January 29, 2019 at The Funeral Chapel with Pastor Keevin Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
