Cindy Kay (Starnes) Gress passed away unexpectedly on February 17, 2019. Cindy was born on December 14, 1959 to Georgia and Leon Starnes of Bloomington, Indiana.
Cindy could light up a room with her smile and create laughter with her humor. She loved working in her beautiful flower beds, animals, and her family. Her grandchildren and her artistry was her life's passion.
Cindy leaves behind her husband, Michael Gress of Washington, IN, step-sons, Aaron and Nick Gress, parents, Georgia and Leon Starnes, children, Michael Thompson, Sara Heumann (Greg), Amanda Thompson, Samantha Bellamy, and Aaron Bellamy, sister, Susan Starnes-Liford (Bruce), brother, Steve Starnes (Margie Ryan), grandchildren, Madilyn, Coleman, cooper, Carson, Joshua, Jessica, Aiden, Conner, Soloman, Jocelynn, Memphis, Hunter, Gabriel, Hadley, Isaiah, Kyran, Anya, Kellie, Ryan, and Rachel, and numerous extended family members.
Cindy was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Glen and Thelma Crohn, paternal grandparents, George and Audrey Starnes, uncle, Gary Starnes, aunt, Christina Crohn, and nephew, Charles Jacob Liford.
Visitation for Cindy will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street Bloomington, Indiana.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, with burial to follow at Greene County Chapel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Animal Control Center, 213 S 200 W, Washington, IN 47501 or the Bloomington Animal Shelter, 3410 S Walnut St, Bloomington, IN 47401.
