Obituary for Charles Andrew "Bud" Lipscomb Jr.
Charles Andrew "Bud" Lipscomb Jr., 80, of Ellettsville, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. Bud was born January 10, 1939 in Beckley, West Virginia and was the son of the late Charles Andrew Lipscomb Sr. and Doris (Hatcher) Lipscomb.
Bud worked for 38 years at Crane NWSC as an engineer, retiring in 2004. After retirement he taught Physics at Ivy Tech. He was an active member of Free Methodist Church in Bloomington where he sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. He was also active in the Emmaus and Kairos Ministries.
Bud is survived by his wife of 59 years, Janice (Worth) Lipscomb of Ellettsville; daughter, Kathryn (James) Livengood of Zionsville, IN ; son, Jim Lipscomb of Nashville, IN; three grandchildren, Skyla Lipscomb, Jyri Livengood and Tatyana Livengood; and one sister, Katheryn "Kitty" Musselman of Charlotte, NC.
Bud was preceded in death by his daughter, Margaret "Marge" Mueller and his parents.
Services for Bud will be 10:00 am Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the Bloomington Free Methodist Church, 1121 S. Lincoln St. Bloomington. Pastor Les Rovenstine will officiate the service with burial following at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 4-7 pm at Free Methodist Church.
