Robert Dale Kent, age 88, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away at Richland Bean Blossom Health Care Center in Ellettsville, Indiana on March 14, 2019. He was born on June 14, 1930 in Belmont, Indiana to Charles and Ethel (Deckard) Kent.
Robert was drafted into the United States Army in 1951, where he spent time in Germany before being discharged from duty in 1953. He worked at RCA for 34 years, was a member of the American Legion in Bloomington, and enjoyed gardening and working on his small farm.
Robert is survived by his children, Curtis Kent (Angie) and Judy Phillips (Bill Brown), grandchildren, Amber Kent, Morgan Coyle (Patrick), Bryan, William, Jessica, and Kayla Phillips, and great-grandchild, Quillen Phillips.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Neaomi Jeanette (Baxter) Kent, parents, and siblings, Opal, Leo, and Charles "Edmund" Kent, and Martha Rose.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street Bloomington, Indiana.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Monday at The Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Bloomington.
