Obituary for Stanley D. Knight
Stanley D. Knight, 71, of Ellettsville passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born, January 20, 1948 in Bluffton, IN; he was the son of the late Grayson and Helen (Newhard) Knight.
Stanley was an Electronics Technician NSWC Crane Division and he worked on a Naval Base in Bahrain for 12 years where he met his wife Marlene.
He was an Air Force Veteran serving in the Vietnam War and he was a Commissioner for the Hoosier Trials Council Boys Scouts of America in Bloomington.
Stanley was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who enjoyed photography and traveling.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Marlene Francisco Knight, two daughters, Liz Knight, and Rachel Knight of California, three sons, Scott Knight of Oregon, Paul O'Dell, and Eric O'Dell of Oklahoma, one grandson, Damon Knight, and siblings, Greg Knight, Doug Knight, Mark Knight, and Eric Knight all of California, Valerie Bourland of Melbourne, Florida and Clarice Knight of California.
The family will receive friends 9:30-10:30am Saturday, March 23, 2019 at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 4607 W. State Road 46, Bloomington, IN 47404.
A Funeral Mass will be 10:30am at St. John with Father Daniel Mahan officiating.
The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. in Bloomington is handling arrangements.
