Norman Gonterman, age 81, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away at his residence with his family by his side on Monday, March 18, 2019. He was born in Bloomington on June 28, 1937 to Thurman and Louise (Ramsey) Gonterman. Norman was in the National Guard, retired from RCA, was a member of Ducks Unlimited, NRA, and the American Legion Burton Woolery Post 18. He loved family vacations the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and he loved his family dearly.
Norman is survived by his daughters, Kelli Gonterman Wilkes and Lori Finch (Don), grandchild, Rolissa Wilkes, step-grandchildren, Josh and Jason Finch, step-great-grandchild, Kayley Finch, siblings, Patricia Hash, Walter "Skip" Gonterman (Diane) Sandra Carrell (Butch), and Ann Britton (Fred), several nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Thurman and Louise (Ramsey) Gonterman, grandparents, Bernice and George Gonterman and John and Wilamina Ramsey, siblings, Mary Lou Priest and Robert Gonterman, nephew, Dan Hash, and niece, Lougenia Hottell.
Visitation for Norman will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 21, 2019 and 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Friday at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street Bloomington, Indiana.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM on Friday at The Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens in Bloomington. Mike Hendricks will officiate.
