Obituary for David H. Smith
David H. Smith, 67, of Heltonville passed from this life on Tuesday March 26, 2019. David was born November 20, 1951 in Monroe County and was the son of the late Robert Ancil Smith and Wilma Jean (Harris) Prince.
David had been employed by the Bedford Limestone Supply and North Lawrence Water. He attended church at the Apostolic Church of Jesus and loved to worship with his nephew Andy and Pastor Mickey Jo Smith. David loved going to church and watching NASCAR. He was an avid hunter and hunted all over Lawrence and Monroe Counties.
David is survived by his wife, Cheryl; sons, Scott, Rusty and Chris, and stepson Billy Mills, grandsons, Riley and Ethan Smith, granddaughters, Maddie Turner and husband Gary, Macie Brown and husband Jordan, step granddaughter EmmaLee Burgess; sister, Joyce Hawkins and husband Phil; stepsisters, Cindy Stewart and Carolyn Prince; two great grandsons and a very special nephew Andy Smith and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his first wife; Rebecca Lynn Smith; mother Wilma Prince; step father James Prince; father, Robert "Butch" Smith; brother, Danny Joe Smith; grandson, Josh Dillard; and stepson Jesse Mills.
Visitation for David will be on Sunday March 31, 2019 from 3-5 pm at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington, IN.
Graveside Services will be 1:00 pm Monday at Allen's Creek Cemetery (Roberts Road) with Pastor Mickey Smith officiating.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be given to The Funeral Chapel to assist with funeral expenses.
