On April 20th 1968 they married in Port Hueneme California. She was actively involved in the Navy Officers Wives club and was stationed in different parts of the world. As a Navy spouse of 24 years Joe and Julie retired to Bloomington, Indiana where she worked at Monroe County Bank, Monroe County Clerks Office and finally at Unity Physicians Group until retirement in 2007. She enjoyed bowling with Joe, introducing friends to her traditional Filipino cuisines, flower arranging, Mahjong and spending time with family.

That was truly beautiful. I met Julieta only once, at her son Joe and Emily's wedding. I know Joe very well, however, and Julieta and big Joe did an incredible job raising a good man. Joe is an amazing husband, father, and friend. He does them great honor in his life, as he is a testament of the love and values they bestowed on him.
