Obituary for Patricia J. Merriman
Patricia J. Merriman, 81, of Bloomington, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Wednesday, May 15, 2019. Pat was born November 20, 1937 in Bedford, Indiana and was the daughter of the late Joe and Eunice (Row) Hawkins.
Pat was retired from Crane Federal Credit Union where she worked as a Loan Receptionist. She was a member of Northside Christian Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She also enjoyed working in her flower beds at home. Pat loved going south in the winter with her husband Mel and they attended South Baldwin Church in Gulf Shores during that time.
Pat is survived by her husband of 33 years, Melvin Merriman; daughter, Kathryn Dix; son, Stephen Bodkins; step daughter, Melanie Cassidy; step son, Micah Merriman; sister, Susan Starr; 8 grandchildren, Samantha Dix, Sarah Dix, Vincent Bodkins, Lila Bodkins, Matt Cassidy, Allison Cassidy, Jarrett Cassidy, and Larissa Merriman.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation for Pat will be on Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 9:30 am until 11:00 am at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington.
Services will be at 11:00 am Saturday at The Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tim Clarke officiating. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given in Pat's name to, Northside Christian Church, 3993 N. Prow Road Bloomington, IN 47408.
