Darrell was a nice and fun to be with man. He was a neighbor of ours for years. We had cookouts and he would play tag with my daughter Michelle. Every time we would see him in town he would still tell her she’s it. He would give us little tips in life since we were starting out our young family. Darrell could make anyone laugh. You will be missed Darrell. God bless your family and my prayers are with you.

Cindy and I will always treasure our memories of playing music with Darrell at the weekly fiddle tune gatherings at Joe Dawson’s home. The jokes were always flying, and Darrell’s generous soul shone through without fail. On an especially good night, Arnetta was there, too, to add to the joy with her accordion and her loving smile. Darrell cared so much for his old friend Joe, and for us, his new younger friends. We’ll never forget you, Darrell. Arnetta, our hearts are with you. - Grey Larsen
