Stella Mae (Pitman) Koontz, 87, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Aperion Care in Spencer, Indiana. She was born on May 5, 1932 in Mount Vernon, Kentucky, the daughter of Beasil and Ella Mae (Rowe) Pitman. Stella worked for I.U. food court for 32 years.
Stella is survived by her children, William H. Koontz “Butch” and Kathy L. Honeycutt (Bill), two sisters, Mary V. (Pitman) Graves and Lorene Pitman of Paris, KY, three grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
Stella was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William H. “Jack” Koontz, daughter-in-law, Sherry L. Koontz, four brothers, Vernon Pitman Jr., William Pitman, James T. Pitman, and Charles “Charlie” Pitman, two sisters, Nellie “Bea” Hood and Marie Corns.
At Stella’s request, there will be no services.
