Obituary for Nicki "Shawn" (McDaniel) Hamm

Nicki Shawn (McDaniel) Hamm, 50, of Bloomington passed away on October 26th at her home after a valiant battle with cancer.
Shawn was born on January 30, 1969 to Larry and Sharon (Rush) McDaniel.
She is survived by her husband Brad Hamm of 33 years; two children: Jessica Underwood (Devon) & Jay Hamm (Sara); six grandchildren: Lydia & Samuel Underwood; Grifinn, Tahlen, Adalynn, & Anna Grace Hamm. She is also survived by her parents Sharon & Larry McDaniel, as well as her brother Mick McDaniel (Anne). She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Steve & Lois (Fleener) Rush, and Fred & Mary (Galyan) McDaniel.
Shawn was a loving, loyal and compassionate person who always had time for everyone she knew or met. At the time of her passing she was a member of Liberty Church of Christ and was employed with Weddle Bros. Construction for 19 years. She was previously employed with Indiana Gas Company for 13 years. She also served as a passionate 4-H leader for 27 years. However, nothing in this life was as important to her as the role of wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also a devoted sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend. She is often thought of for her infectious giggle, loving smile, and her ability to make everyone feel included and valued. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 9th at Liberty Church of Christ (Solsberry, IN) beginning at 11 am.
Donations can be made to Harey Hoppers 4-H Rabbit Club in order to fund a scholarship established in her honor.
