Donald Dale Conard, 80, of Bloomington passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Valley View Farms doing what he loved. Dale was born at home on his family’s farm on May 15, 1939. He was the son of the late Burl and Mary Agnes (Latimer) Conard.
Dale was a lifelong farmer and was the owner and operator of Valley View Farms. He was a member and two time President of the Monroe County Fair Board, 4-H Leader for 37 years, former President of the Indiana Angus Association, member of the Indiana State Fair Board, Former President and member of the Monroe County Soil and Water Conservation Board, former member of the Board of Zoning Appeals, and a member of Ellettsville Christian Church.
Dale is survived by his wife, Pat Conard; 4 sons, Frank Conard, Don (Shelly) Conard, Joe Conard, and James Buskirk; 5 grandsons, Josh, Jacob (Erinn), Justin (Miranda), Clint (Adrianna), and Tabin and 2 granddaughters, Maggie and Taybre. Also surviving are 5 great grandchildren, Amelia, Isaac, Brayden, Reagan and Callie.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife of 53 years, Connie D. Conard.
Visitation for Dale will be from 3-8 pm on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington and on Friday, November 15, 2019 from 10:00 am until service time.
Services will be at 11:00 am Friday at The Funeral Chapel with Minister Byron Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be given in Dale’s memory to IU Health Hospice House.
