Frederick F. “Ted” May, 81, of Bloomington passed away Friday, November 22, 2019 at IU Health Hospice House.
Born, November 27, 1937 in Monroe County, he was the late son of Glen “P.K.” and Edith (Hartman) May.
Ted was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, watching NASCAR racing, football, and IU Basketball.
Survivors include his children, Anita May Bonnell (Shannon) of Bloomington, Kevin May (Diana Jarbeau May) of San Antonio, TX; Frederick “P.K.” May of Bloomington, and Kathy Martin of Bloomington, step-daughter, Phyllis Gibbs of Bloomington, and step-son, Rick Gibbs (Theresa) of Florida, grandchildren, Victoria Bonnell, Arielle Hoselton May, Joshua May, Jordan May, Angelina May, Christian Jarbeau, Juliana Jarbeau, Austin May, Stephanie Martin, Justin Martin, Angela Silvers, and Ricky Gibbs, and seven great-grandchildren.
Ted was preceded in death by his wife, Judy (Gibbs) May and his son, Teddy Lee May.
At Ted’s request there will be no services.
The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. in Bloomington is handling arrangements. Memories of Ted and condolences to the family may be shared at www.thefuneralchapel.net
