Obituary for Gary Dean Griffith
Gary Dean Griffith, 82, of Ellettsville passed away December 13, 2019 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
He was born September 4, 1937 in Worthington, Indiana. He was the son of Kenneth and Lucille Griffith. Gary married his wife, Glenda on January 1, 1983 and was married nearly 37 years.
Gary retired from the MCCSC Print Shop in 2013 after 32 years of service. He was an avid bowler and golfer for many years until his health prevented him from doing so. He was also a member of the VFW.
His hobbies included playing Texas Holdem Poker with his many friends, watching St Louis Cardinals Baseball, and sitting on the front porch talking with his buddy, Charlie.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda, daughter, Kathy Parrish (Kenny) of Bloomington, sons, Rick Griffith (Shirley) of Bedford, and Michael Griffith of Bloomington, grandchildren, Kenny and Gavin Parrish, brother, Ronald Griffith (Jeri) of Indianapolis, mother-in-law, Alma Jean Royer of Ellettsville, brother-in-law, Steve Royer (Judy) of Bloomington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Joe Griffith, and brother-in-law, Ronald Royer.
Visitation will be 4-8pm Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street in Bloomington.
Services will be 1:00pm Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
