Obituary for Nancy Jane Ganka (Bird)

Nancy Jane (Bird) Ganka, 61, died after a long cancer battle on January 30th, 2020 in Bloomington, Indiana. She was born in Chicago Ill on March 18th, 1958.
Nancy graduated from Alvernia Catholic High School in Chicago, Illinois and continued her education at Indiana University. She was married to John Ganka for 18 years and together they had two children, Melissa and Terry. Throughout her life, Nancy worked as a front office consultant, later enjoyed working in real estate, and most of all loved campaigning with the Monroe County Republican Party. Her most recent career had been as a direct support professional with special needs adults. Nancy was a member of Sherwood Oaks Christian Church.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Frances Bird of Chicago, and niece Mary Bird (16). She is survived by her children Melissa Ganka-Collins (Michael) of Unionville, IN and Terrence Ganka (Melinda) serving at Ethnos360 mission in PNG, her grandchildren Ryan and Nora (Collins), Jay, Tyler, and John (Ganka), her sister Ruth (Ron) Rowe, brother David (Deb) Bird, sister Linda Wade, brother Glenn (Mary) Bird, and ten nieces and nephews.
