Obituary

Duane Ray “Bud” Dixon, 85, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away at his residence on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. He was born in Monroe County, Indiana on January 3, 1935 to Thomas R. and Pearl (Waddel) Dixon. Bud graduated from Bloomington High School in 1953, and then served in the Army National Guard. He was a truck driver for RCA for 38 years before delivering prescriptions for Kroger. His passion was racing, especially sprint cars. Bud also enjoyed going to yard sales, where he loved to buy old radios to add to his collection. He loved to tinker with things and make floats for parades. Bud was a true jack of all trades. He loved his dogs, friends, and family. Bud was known for always carrying half dollars in his pocket and would give them out.
Bud is survived by his wife of 25 years, Judy (Raney) Dixon, son, Marty Dixon (Jolene) and their sons, Tyler and Jake Dixon, daughter, Regena Dixon, and her son, Jesse Allgood and daughter, Cheyenne Brown, step-son, Brian Daniel and his daughters, Mycah and Hadarah Daniel, step-daughter, Missy Newton (Tony) and their son, Ross Newton, step-daughter, Angela Jordan and her daughter, Dusty Wehr (Jeremiah) and her children, Hailey Sebesky and Gibson Wehr, son, Thomas Rhoades, daughter, Ricki Jordan, and son, Joey Jordan (Kara) and their daughter, Paisleigh and Layla Jordan, and sister, Norma Rogers (Wilbur Mackey).

“Bud” was as his name, my buddy. We meet through our love for sprint car racing. I would wave at him from my push truck and boy did I catch it if i forgot!!!!! And then can’t forget those yard sales. Most time that red truck would be either in front or behind me a the same sale. Lots of fun. I will forever be waving at him in heaven. Even last night in Florida at the USAC Midget racings with a full moon I gave him a big wave!! Will miss you my Buddy. 🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁
