Obituary for Anthony "Tony" McMillan
Anthony “Tony” McMillan, 81, of Greenwood, formerly of Bloomington passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born, April 13, 1938 in Monroe County, IN; he was the son of the late Samuel and Beulah (Mosier) McMillan.
Tony was a 1955 graduate of Bloomington High School where he was a wrestler, and center on the football team. He served in the United States Naval Reserve from 1955-1963.
He was employed at Westinghouse, and later was the Co-owner/Operator of Bert’s Produce, retiring in 2002.
Tony and his wife, Evelyn of 61 years moved to Greenwood in 2011 where they became members of the Heartland Church of Christ.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who enjoyed golfing, fishing, and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn R. (Sansone) McMillan, children, Beth Stancombe (Brian) of Bloomington, David McMillan (Beth) of Indianapolis, and Lisa Kovacs (Brian) of Greenwood, eight grandchildren, Aaron Stancombe (Anna), Ben Stancombe (Jordan), Claire Brock (Nate), Lindsey Kovacs, Alexa Kovacs, Conner McMillan, Anthony Kovacs, and Alainey Kovacs, two great-grandchildren, Lydia and Luca Stancombe, brothers and sisters-in-law, Vincent and Betty Sansone, Mike and Janet Sansone, Augie and Dan Stillions, and several nieces and nephews.
Tony was preceded in death by siblings, Dick McMillan, Martha Jane Daugherty, Mary Alice Barrett, and Pat Williams, brothers and sisters-in-laws, Russell and Barbara Minett, Bobby Sansone, Alice McMillan, N.E. Daugherty, Howard Barrett, and Halsey Williams, and in-laws, Bert and Martha Sansone.
Visitation will be 3-7pm Sunday, March 8, 2020 and 11am-12pm Monday, March 9, 2020 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. in Bloomington.
Funeral services will be 12:00pm Monday at The Funeral Chapel with Pastors Shelby Floyd and Mitch Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Bloomington.
